Artists: Emily Goodwin
Emily Goodwin grew up in Protestant New England, but her intricate icon artworks were inspired by Catholic and Latin American imagery. She often combines these religious elements with others such as packaging, mythic, and fairy tale iconography to make 3-dimensional collages which she calls Veronica's Icons (after Saint Veronica).
Her work is currently being shown in several galleries, and she can be commissioned to make customized icons focused on favorite saints or topics. Recent subjects have included Costa Rican butterflies, and St. George and the Dragon. She is currently working on a commission related to the saints celebrated on July 24th (including Christina of Tyre, Christina of Bolsena, and Christina the Astonishing).
