| Wilmino Domond:
Le Sacrifice
|
| Artist's comments |
(Gallery Note): Mixing Christian and Vodou symbology, this artwork represents the killing of an evil spirit by the loa Ogou. The original was part of the exhibit "Under The Spell: The Art Of Haiti" at the Chicago Cultural Center in 1983, and is illustrated in its catalog.
N.B. These unusual serigraphs, replete with vodou symbolism, were beautifully produced in France in the 1980s, on very heavy archival stock. We recently had the opportunity to acquire the entire uncirculated edition of 250, so these can be found exclusively in the Electric Gallery. |
